I have noticed that event ACPI\INT3400\2&daba3ff&1 once came in but not BSOD...maybe that caused the slowness but comp managed to stay on. Things seemed to speed up somewhat but now, 3 days later, I notice barely any improvement with start up speed. So not perfect but no BSOD.

when in win8/8.1 it not really locked, it just need you to boot on safe mode after change to ahci in bios that all you need to do.
