I'm thinking that the drive either does not support USB 3 or the firmware is somehow not letting me use it in another enclosure/dock. It was working fine just some days ago on the smart tv and I haven't really added anything after that.What should I do in orden to at least retrieve all the PROBLEM SOLVED. If I could read the files I would back them up :-) the all the advice you give here is to wipe out the drive and use it somewhere else what

Good Luck. however the onboard USB is old and a few crashed. I have 4 USB slots and I have tried them all with the same results. For example, add the letter G: and the removable drive will be accessible at drive G:.

This did the trick to make my hard drive usable again after it was being used by a DVR previously! After contacting seagate they said it was a warranty prob and i could return it. but beneath it "not initialized" is shown.. Even if it doesn’t appear in your Computer window because it doesn’t contain any partitions, it should show up here. Some USB hubs won’t provide enough power for your external drive to function.
