I didn't realise when I bought it that it wouldn't work straight away and it needed formatting and partitioning. Anyone have any ideas? It seems to indicate things are working fine, but the drive doesn't autorun when plugged in and is not read by My Computer ie I seem unable to read/write onto the Windows says the drivers are up to date.
I then deleted the partitions and re-created with XP. In some cases, you may connect your drive to a Windows PC or another device with a USB port and find that it’s not recognized. I tried to use Driver Talent to update the driver. My issue; Seagate, 1.5TB, USB3, external phantom drive.
So now I really want a solution without having to revert to reformatting. The GPT protection was implemented when I used the flash drive with an iMac (OSX 10.6). If it has a GUID partition (GPT Protective Partition), it will look similar to the image (Disk 1) below when viewed in Disk Management.
