If you have a 460/560 family of cards, you cannot go above 314.22, and with 314.22 your games will cause crashes. Not your fault. Also, I don't want to go nuts on a video card upgrade. I get mine at Costco.
Build your own computer. Crash the game, don't crash the system. If not, uninstall it, reboot, then install the new version.

In the end I went and bought another graphics card from Amazon, an AMD ATI Radeon HD 5450. As to the PCIe issue, it's not answered by specs but by doing. The back air vents had little dust on it, and I cleaned it out after the second crash I believe.
I've had enough. There was a ton of dust clumped up in the fan, and I couldn't get to it until I physically pulled out the card and got the right angle on it. Disabling the streaming service is good enough. Finally, I can't roll back the drivers, as when I used the Device Manager to check for updates and such, the "rollback" was grayed out.
