That was the problem, since as soon as I added that port in the router software, it worked perfectly. My account is now working and that's all I was after.To your comments about the email. I keep getting error message 0x80048820. See “Note for old versions” below.
You may have to fudge around with your ports. This includes Windows, macOS (Mac OS X), Linux, Apple iOS, Google Android and so on. Worked fine for 5 years, then all of a sudden it didn't. Always a good idea to back up your mail,contats etc, just in case.

Port 25 was blocked a long time ago now.
