For applications, I have to strictly tell them to run as admin, otherwise they don't elevate themselves.
I have two programs that have stopped running on startup. The solution to this problem is to use Task Scheduler to create a task and have it run elevated and on user logon.Elevated Tasks don't have a UAC prompt so the Next, locate the Startup folder under All Apps in the Start menu, right-click it, and select Paste to paste a copy of that shortcut. I am not sure why one would use one over the other but either seems to work.

Since Configuring Scheduled task needs admin privilege already, so your program will be already granted admin permission.
